MISSION LOG 60
Associated event: Frequency
Status: Signal Found_

We made it down.

Barely.

The Nova is still breathing, if you can call it that. Half the systems are either dead or lying to us. Lights keep cutting in and out. Every few minutes something in the hull shifts like it is about to give up completely.

No sign of the hostile ships since descent.

No sign of Earth either.

After reviewing the first encounter, command has agreed on a name for the entities.

The Greys.

Tall. Thin. Grey-skinned. Not passive.

That is what they are now.

At first we thought the noise was just damage from the comms array. A broken signal bouncing through the ship. Static, mostly.

Then it started repeating.

Same pulse. Same gap. Same pulse again.

It does not match any known Earth channel. It does not match the hostile vessels either.

We tried to clean it up and the whole room went quiet.

There was something under it.

Not words exactly.

I heard music for about three seconds, then nothing.

The signal was not coming from above us.

It was coming from below.

Navigation has started pulling toward the same location every time we reboot it. Could be a fault. Could be the ship trying to correct itself.

Could be something else.

We do not have the fuel to leave.
We do not have the parts to repair properly.
And we still have no confirmed signal from Earth.

So we follow the frequency.
